Reaching . Raising . Releasing

The vision of The Potter's House Christian Church in Goulburn is to fulfil Jesus’ Great Commission in Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every person.” To achieve this, the foundations of our Fellowship can be summed up as:

Changing Lives - Making Disciples - Reaching the World

To build a community of contagious Christians that will have an impact by planting and supporting Churches all over the world.
— Our mission statement

CHANGING LIVES

With this focus, we are constantly endeavouring to reach unsaved and unchurched people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to spread the good news of God's love and saving grace throughout the world. Whether we use Christian bands, movies, dramas, street preaching, or door-to-door evangelism, our focus and mission is to help lead people into their own personal relationship with the Saviour Jesus Christ.

MAKING DISCIPLES

It was Christ Himself who commanded His followers to "make disciples of all the nations," and the simple obedience to this command by our founding Pastor Wayman Mitchell that has been imparted as our fellowship's vision. The call for ordinary people to do extraordinary things through the working power of the Holy Spirit. No matter who you are God has a plan for you. It is not who you are but what you can become in Jesus Christ.

REACHING THE WORLD

Our aim for every local church is to be a church planting centre. With the focus of building Gods empire and not our own. We collectively release couples into the ministry to pioneer a work for Christ within our communities and throughout the world. We hold two bible conferences, our national conference in Perth and regional conference in September, where we collectively as a fellowship release and launch couples into the harvest.

Pastor Mark & Hilary Winder

I want to welcome you to Potter’s House Goulburn. I am proud to be representing our fellowship in the great city of Goulburn. I have family in Taralga and have for a long time admired the history, culture and people of Goulburn. We look forward to being part of the Community and to serving everyone that comes in contact with the ministry of the Church.

Our Church will be a place of refuge, and place of growth, a place of community, a place where the truth is valued, and most importantly a place where people can be pointed to Jesus Christ. I know that God has a great future for every humble and repentant heart.

Pastor Mark grew up in the Southern suburbs of Sydney, before joining the Army in 2000. After serving 11 years, whilst on deployment in Afghanistan, God began to move upon Mark’s heart. After a series of God inspired events, Mark made a decision to give his life to Jesus in 2009, at a simple Gospel preaching Church in Ramsgate Sydney. It was the single most defining moment in Mark’s life. After a period of growth as a disciple in the Church, Mark responded to the call of God to the ministry and was ordained in 2017. Since then, Mark has served in a number of ministry appointments, where he is passionate about seeing every Christian equipped and mobilised in the destiny that God has for their lives.

Pastor Mark has recently responded to the call of God into Goulburn and the surrounding Area.

The Church

The Potter’s House Goulburn exists as a local congregation to witness to the world of God’s love as revealed in His Son Jesus Christ, our crucified, risen, exalted and soon returning King.

We seek to teach the Word of God and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our goal is the shaping and equipping of our church family so that disciples will be nourished and empowered to fulfill their God ordained purpose and ministry. As members of the church our desire is to bring glory to God through our public and private lives.

We do this by rejoicing in Christ Jesus; increasing in knowledge of God through the study and application of the scriptures; by growing in Godly character; by practicing Biblical fellowship; by serving one another with our spiritual gifts, our time and our money, and by proclaiming the Gospel in Goulburn, surrounding suburbs, and to the ends of the earth.

We have a large number of ways that we serve the community and minister to people both within and outside the four walls of the church building.

These include:

  • Adult Bible Hour Series at 9:30am every Sunday

  • Prayer Meetings every Sunday 5:30pm and Wednesday 6:30pm

  • Connect Group Bible Study

  • Monthly Mens Discipleship Classes

  • Concerts

  • Community Park Outreach Programs

The

Vision

Evangelism: The Gospel taken outside the four walls is the absolute foundation of our church, in obedience to Mark 16:15 And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature'… We emphasize personal evangelism, and a large variety of outreaches to share the Gospel.

Conversion: We witness, testify and preach for a decision. The Gospel has the power to save and transform lives. 1 Peter 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever… The bulk of our congregation consists of people converted here by the Power of God.

The Local Church: God has placed everything necessary to accomplish His will in the setting of the local church. Ephesians 1:22-23 …the church. Which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. God’s will is accomplished in us and through us as connect and commit ourselves to a local church.

Discipleship: God intends for calling to Him, and for Him, to be accomplished through being trained and equipped within the setting of a local church. Therefore, the highest calling of a Pastor and congregation is to obey God’s command in Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

Church Planting: The result of disciples being raised up is that they be released into the harvest field. Matthew 9:37-38 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." We send couples to plant brand new congregations, with the aim of reproducing our vision in a new area.

World Evangelism: From the earliest Bible record, God’s vision is worldwide testimony and impact. The gospel message and the vision God has revealed to us is not simply American, but God-inspired; so therefore it works, and is relevant in every nation and culture of the world. Mark 16:15 all the world/every person…Matthew 28:19 all the nations… Our job as believers, and as the local church is to pray, train, invest, send and support workers to go into all the world!
